Greetings students and families. Our 2017-18 ES House Fun Run was a success on Friday. We were able to run even with all the rain we have had over the past week. We ran for two reasons: the first was to raise money for the Singapore Food Bank, at this time we have raised a little over $200. The second reason was for house points and #ISSPride as we strive to have balanced active lives.
The set-up was a set of cones on our football pitch in the form of an oval. K2-G2 had 12 minutes to run or walk as many laps as possible. G3-G5 had 20 minutes to run or walk as many as they wanted. K2-G2 ran a total of 1,273 laps while G3-G5 ran 1,650 laps. That makes a total of 2,923 laps for the afternoon by our ES students, staff, and parents.
Come back next week for the final House Score and the updated House points!
On a side note, the fun run inspired two students in K2-G2 to set their own alarm for early Saturday morning to run at the track with their dad. This is something we hope for as #PhysEd teachers, to get students active and involved outside of the school environment.
