This week we travelled to Dover Court for Match Day 3 and after our goal scoring success of last week we hoped for a repeat performance. We started against SAS, a team who had beaten us in the past 2 matches. It was a pulsating end to end match and although both teams had good chances, neither was able to score. It finished 0-0. A good result against a tough team.
We had a short break before our next game and we happily got stuck into the cupcakes, chips and drinks provided by our fantastic parents.
Maybe we ate a little too much as in our next match against SJII we got off to a very slow start and were down 2-0 within the first couple of minutes. We fought hard for the rest of the match and had some excellent chances to claw back a a goal.
Heegyu had the best chance of the day and he struck the ball sweetly. It was heading into the goal and the celebration had begun, but he was denied by the super long grass and the ball stopped rolling right on the goal line. From happiness to heartbreak!
This just about summed up the remainder of our day at Dover Court. A 2-0 loss to Chatsworth then a 1-0 loss to Dover Court followed and we were back on the bus and on our way home.
Next week we travel back to SJII, the site of our scoring heroics from last week and we hope that we can rediscover that goalscoring form....
