We started a little nervously in our first game against Chatsworth, but worked well together as a team to defend courageously.
In our second and third games against Dover Court and Singapore American School we continued to build on our teamwork and passing and put in a much improved performance. Although we lost to SAS, they didn't score any goals against us! (We scored 2 own goals for them!!!!)
Our next match against UWC Dover was by far our best. We spent almost the entire match in attack and had the majority of possession and a number of close misses.
In our final game against SJII we again controlled the possession and had a handful of good chances to score, only for SJII to score two quick goals on the counter attack.
Mael and Aidan were excellent in goal for us, putting their bodies on the line to stop some fierce shots. Ken, Iskander, Karl and Heegyu were strong in defence and made some attacking runs down the wings. Kohju, Tyler and Hugo all had excellent games up forward and although we didn't score a goal we went very close on a number of occasions.
The boys represented the school proudly and played with fantastic spirit and enthusiasm. We look forward to Match Day 2 next Tuesday at SJII.
