What a difference a week makes in football. After failing to score a goal in our 5 matches last week, we scored 9 goals this week!
We started strongly against Dover Court and Kohju opened the scoring with a fantastic strike after a magnificent run down the wing by Hugo. To the delight of the team and parent supporters, the scoring didn't stop there. Hugo put two more goals in and we came away with our first win of the year!
In our second game against UWC (who we drew 0-0 with last week) the goal bonanza continued. Kohju and Hugo again on the scoresheet for a 2-1 win.
Our third game was against the home team, SJII, and some changes in position left us vulnerable in defence. We quickly went down 3-0 but to the boys credit they fought back hard and nearly snatched a point for a draw. Mael scored with a nutmeg and then Hugo scored another and quickly we were back in the game at 2-3. We had another chance to score to level the game but hit the bar. An unlucky loss!
Our last game was against SAS and although Hugo scored 2 goals it wasn't enough to get us a win, as we went down 3-2.
The boys played so well as a team this week and really showed grit and determination to get 2 wins on the board. Well done to all players and thanks to the parents who came to cheer us along.
Next week we play at Dover Court and we hope to continue with our scoring success!
