K1 have been playing Net/Wall games in PE as part of their unit on How the World Works. They have been learning about how "Energy creates Movement."
During a VERY rainy day we had our PE lesson in the Multi Purpose Room. We sorted some beanbags with food on them into two groups. One group was for healthy food like fruits and vegetables and the other was for unhealthy food like soft drink and french fries. When we were done we did some shopping and picked out 5 different types of food that we would like to eat. We tried to make sure we picked some healthy things as well as some treats! K1 did a fantastic job at this and showed that they are very knowledgeable about healthy eating! PE is a perfect place to support the numeracy program. In this video Alex and Sam count how many pieces of fruit they have collected at the supermarket during one of our cooperative games.
K1 have been working together to collect objects. They took their "Cars" and went for a drive to the supermarket to pick up some fruit (Bean Bags). While on the way they had to watch out for the red traffic lights. Teddy even came along for the ride!
K1 had lots of fun in their first lesson of PE for the year. We worked on fundamental motor skills like running, hopping, jumping, skipping as well as travelling forwards, backwards and sideways. K1 was fantastic at following instructions and being caring with each other. We look forward to an exciting year in PE for K1. Well done on your first day! |
