In our second week of the year we again faced some less that ideal weather early in the week, however we were still able to have plenty of fun. The middle school are currently off campus for their swimming lessons so we have a lot more space to use when the rain comes down.
This week Mr Dino was out on Monday for some training and Mr Nathan was out on Friday for First Aid training so thanks to Mr Roy & Miss A for taking some of the PE classes.
This week our younger classes continued to work on their fundamental movement skills and students explored movements such as running, skipping, hopping, jumping, side stepping as well as throwing both underarm and overarm.
Our Grade 3's took part in a pre assessment where they had to make some choices and then give reasons for them. We will soon publish their video responses to their portfolios and you can see why some of them chose McDonald's over vegetables, or going outside to play rather than playing video games.
The Grade 4's 5's considered some of the things they would like to get better at this year and used the SMART goal setting framework to set some Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound goals. We look forward to seeing how committed they are to achieving these goals over the coming months.
Next week we will begin our new Athletics unit in preparation for the upcoming Sports Day on Friday September 19th at Clementi Stadium.
Have a happy & active weekend!
